Their presentation titled, “A New Team Journey” was a success and highlighted the story of how the team was able to win the Region 1 ESPORTS Invitational.
ESPORTS is a competitive gaming league for all grade levels which can give students a sense of community and inclusion. ESPORTS promotes a positive environment that can benefit students in multiple ways such as building 21st Century skills which include critical thinking, communication, and collaboration.

Dear Vanguard Academy families, October 2nd is World Day of Bullying Prevention, and we're inviting all students, teachers, and staff to join us in taking a stand against bullying and cyberbullying. On this day, let's unite by wearing blue shirts and blue slacks to show our commitment to creating a safe and respectful school environment for all. Congratulations to the Beethoven Secondary 7th Grade boys Cross Country team for winning the 2nd Annual Vanguard Invitational Cross Country meet this past Saturday September 23rd! The boys have been improving and practicing all season which as led them to these great successes! The top 5 finishers for the Gladiators were Joseph Olmos 2nd, Dael Zamora 3rd, Fernando Longoria 6th, Carlos Garcia 10th, and Emiliano Barraclough in 15th! The Gladiators will be back in action next Saturday October 7th, to compete for the District Championship at Pharr Idea College Prep High School!

Girls Varsity Cross Country team placed First at Vanguard 2nd annual cross country meet. 7th grade girls also placed First at the invitational. Our Lady Gladiators have been working hard and have a strong will to fight during the race. The Varsity team consist of Nicole Rocha, Daniele Rocha, Marina Mata, Karime Leon, Emily Marquez, Miley Quintanilla, Ski Rodriguez, and Carlota Davila. In the 7th grade girls Aaliayah Briones placed first overall, Asareli Falcon placed 8th, and Victoria Orozco placed 10th. Congratulations to our Lady Gladiators for all their hard work.

Vanguard Academy Gifted & Talented Program
Is currently accepting Student Referrals for 1st-12th graders for this 2023-2024 school year.
Students currently enrolled in 1st - 12th may be referred to the Gifted & Talented Program (GT) by parents, teachers, counselors or community members.
Referral forms can be obtained by the GT Campus Coordinator.

After school and summer programs provide supplemental assistance to help students build a foundation in reading and math and connect high school students to careers and college. Activities include mentor programs, tutoring, academic enrichment, the arts, physical activity, hands-on learning, and family engagement. These programs provide high-quality academic enrichment and other activities designed to increase students' overall academic success. The largest dedicated fund source for programs in Texas is the federally-funded 21st Century Community Learning Centers program, also called Texas Afterschool Centers on Education, or Texas ACE.

"The Vanguard Beethoven Orchestra Double Bass Ensemble” was selected as one of only two ensembles from across Texas to perform at the 2023 Texas Orchestra Directors Association Summer Convention in San Antonio on July 21. The selection process consisted of an application and video submission of the ensemble that were evaluated by a judging panel.
This is the first year that TODA has invited student groups to perform. The double bassists, who range from 4th - 10th grade, will play their program for teachers from across the state.
The Vanguard Orchestra program began in 2019 and is under the direction of Cristina Amorim and Adriana Rodriguez.

Thanks to the Texas Department of Agriculture Seamless Summer Option (SSO) program, Vanguard Academy Child Nutrition Program served:
3,822 meals to the ARISE Community in the cities of Edinburg, Alamo, Las Milpas and Pharr
840 meals to the St. Joseph Catholic School
8,621 meals to Vanguard Academy summer students
